Hi Ho, Silver! A Lone Caterpillar

This lil guy is an Eastern Tent Caterpillar who was hangin’ around outside the screen door at my first apartment when I lived in DC. I couldn’t capture a decent pic of him during the low light of night, but was happily surprised to see him the following morning, further up the doorway and hanging out like there was nothing on his to-do list other than “chilling out”.

For an idea of size, he was less than two inches long. After doing some Googling and finding out that they are harmless to humans, I was hoping that this lil guy would make another appearance so that I could pick him up. But alas, it wasn't meant to be. At least I have the pic.

Living in Virginia reminded me a lot of living in Oregon because there was always so much greenery around me. But unlike Oregon, there were a ton of bugs and insects. No thanks!
