Within a few months of moving to the DC area, there were record snowfalls. So much that we were effectively snowed in, but I didn't mind because I wasn't used to seeing snow. My hometown (and while I lived in Portland) we rarely ever got any snow. And if we did, we were lucky if it accumulated to more than an inch or two. So to me, our neighborhood looked like a winter wonderland.
